Rising at 06.15.

Morning Sitting at 07.00.

Through the Great Divide, probably shifting out of it yesterday towards the end of the Larger Group guitar meeting. This is the shortest Great Divide on a week-long course in my Guitar Craft experience,

Breakfast with interesting discussions on the top table: circularity, inter-connections over 4 decades, how to construct a vehicle to enable & focus energy of spontaneity, such as yesterday evening? Keith Tippett’s Centipede given as one example of constructing a vehicle for shaping & permitting spontaneity; Dr. Mike saw Centipede at the Colston Hall in Bristol (1970) & was watching as one of the guitarists coming out to tune his instrument. This also much of my own intention in early professional writing.

Suggestions for a fine-tuning of the SSG I work on triads following discussions with Dr. Mike & learning of his meetings with KP, a member of JGB’s team working on triads at Coombe Springs in the 1960s. KP suggests the juice is in Dramatic Universe II. One of the Beginners’ this week comes from Ashburton & knows the Ashburton secondhand bookshop (which has changed hands within the past few months). It was at the Ashburton bookshop, which I used to visit on the way to the Willises in Cornwall, where I bought a volume of DU II, personally signed by JGB & dedicated to the brother of a famous English sax player, for £1.

This morning’s breakfast was a personal highspot of the course so far.

11.30  Kitchen Team meeting at 09.30. Why is it that I come out of these meetings feeling less alive than when I went in?

T’ai Chi in the Ballroom at 10.00, Luciano judging the threat of rain.

Beginners in the Ballroom at 10.45. A noticeable improving in the Team’s functioning. Moving to establish a point of fingerboard definition, clarity & certainty; for example, establishing one C on the fingerboad; then moving to establish a second, then a third C. The Buddies took over for the Fourth Primary.

13.26  A meeting with The LCG4 at 12.30 to develop developing variations.

20.51  Sr. Nunez introduced himself at dinner; reports & comments were presented to him of our recent work, focusing mainly on yesterday evening’s meeting.

Concerns on how on approach this evening & whether to repeat yesterday evening’s approach or not; this because the meeting was remarkable, powerful & unique. This led to the coining a new Gaucho aphorism:

It was unique – let’s do it again!

Meeting with the SSG I immediately after dinner; looking at various topics currently under discussion, plus various course dynamics.

22.49  Directions to the Guitars In Ballroom…
